Ladies Only guided Hut Trip (March 6-8)

This is a 3 day course held at the Woody Creek Cabin that is designed to refresh Level 1 skills and fill the gaps between a Level 1 and Level 2 Avalanche Course. Building on your skills of traveling safely and efficiently on snow in the mountains, this course will be instructed and hosted by female guides. Course enrollment will be limited to ladies only, creating a comfortable and relaxing learning environment for women who want to meet new adventure partners and take their backcountry skills to the next level. The class will largely consist of touring through the mountains that surround The Woody Creek Cabin practicing proper decision making techniques for traveling safely and efficiently in avalanche terrain.

The Woody Creek Cabin is a 2 1/2 mile ski tour from downtown Cooke City. The terrain surrounding the cabin varies from low angle glades, to big ski mountaineering objectives, so it is a perfect place to discuss and learn how to travel and recreate in avalanche terrain safely. This course is the perfect confidence builder for people who want to make more informed decisions in the backcountry.

  • Cooking utensils and cookware

  • Bunk beds with memory foam mattresses

  • Wood burning stove and firewood

  • Board games

  • A relaxing atmosphere and amazing views!

  • Water is provided by melting snow in our specially designed snow melt tanks on the wood burning stove
