Reed Youngbar
Owner and Guide
Reed is the owner of Beartooth Powder Guides. He worked as a Ski Patroller for Mammoth Mountain, developing a strong appreciation for mitigating and managing avalanche terrain. He studied forestry in college and makes his summer living in the trades to support his passion for splitboarding and surfing during the winters. He can be found on any tool in the backcountry but these days he’s putting a lot of focus on pow surfing snowmobiling and snowbiking

Nina Hance
Lead Guide
Nina is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide and Lead Guide at BPG. Born and raised in Bozeman MT, she grew up chasing her parents around the mountains of Montana and Alaska. She spent the first three years of her career guiding for a heli and snowcat-skiing operation in Alaska, and worked as an intern for the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center for two seasons. In summers, Nina teaches horseback riding and enjoys rock climbing and mountain biking.

Jake Mundt
Guide
Jake was born and raised in Seattle Washington. He found his love for skiing at Snoqualmie Pass and was a ski instructor there for several years. In 2014 he moved to Bozeman where he attended Montana State University and graduated with a degree in Environmental Studies. While living in Montana, Jake discovered rock and ice climbing. He spends his summers alpine climbing and trail running and winters trying to ski as much as possible.

Ben Zavora
Founder of Beartooth Powder Guides. Since moving to Montana in 1997, he has skied extensively in the mountains of SW Montana. Ben is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide and turned his passion into a profession by founding Beartooth Powder Guides in 2011. Ben has also completed a Level 3 Avalanche course and spends time every year in continuing Avalanche Education events to stay up with the most recent Avalanche research.

Noah Mattes
Noah was born and raised in Colorado, and graduated from Western Colorado University with degrees in Business and Outdoor Education. He moved to Montana after college in search of good climbing and deep snow. Following years of competitive snowboarding, Noah shifted his focus to backcountry riding and never looked back. He spends his summers climbing, running, and dreaming of powder. Noah won a wilderness survival challenge on the Discovery Channel’s TV show Naked and Afraid.

Hunter Graham
Hunter grew up alternating between Silver Gate and Red Lodge, Montana guiding and exploring the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. At 16, Hunter started leading backcountry horseback trips, sightseeing tours, and even elk hunts as a guide for his family’s outfitting business. He attended high school in Red Lodge, MT where he became a strong skier and backpacker. He went on to get a degree in photography from MSU in Bozeman, and has since spent countless hours in all seasons photographing wildlife in and around Yellowstone National Park, developing an intimate knowledge of the terrain as well as excellent spotting and tracking skills.”

Joey Weamer
Joey Weamer is a 5 th generation Montanan who grew up sliding on anything he could get his
hands on from skiing, snowboarding, pow surfing, and snowmobiling. Utilizing his experience
as a ski/ snowboard athlete and action sports sales representative as well as long time Cooke
City winter resident Joey transitioned into new career as a guide, educator, and SAR member.
He loves skin track banter, sharing pow runs, talking backcountry travel in avalanche terrain and
talking all things Cooke City.

Nick Gaddy
Nick grew up in Eastern Washington where he was introduced to the outdoors and skiing at an early age. During college at Western Washington University, he began to explore the mountains of the North Cascades where his passion for climbing, mountaineering and skiing flourished. A fan of the long Montana ski season, Nick settled in Red Lodge in 2013 and has been skiing in the Beartooths and around Cooke City every winter since. In addition to working as a guide, Nick is the Executive Director of Beartooth Trails-a Red Lodge based non profit, the Head Coach of the Silver Run Freeride Team, and educator for the Friends of the Gallatin National Forest Avalanche Center.
