Beartooth Powder Guides Mission Statement, “Create a socially significant business that encourages people to get outdoors and appreciate the beauty of the mountains, while sharing our enthusiasm and love for the wild places of Montana.”
Beartooth Powder Guides is an established Cooke City business, created from the passion of being and living in the mountains. Beartooth Powder Guides has two wilderness lodging options in the Cooke City area, the Woody Creek Cabin and the Mount Zimmer Yurt. Beartooth Powder Guides also offers ski and splitboard guiding services, as well as avalanche education.
Cooke City is a unique mountain town located near the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone Park and at the base of the mighty Beartooth Mountains. In the winter, Cooke City is a dead end town, only accessible by car from the West (through Yellowstone Park), or via snowmobile from the East (from Cody). A consistently deep and reliable snowpack make Cooke City an amazing backcountry ski and snowmobile destination, from November through June every year.
The summers offer amazing fishing, hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities, and it is a worthy stop while exploring Northern Yellowstone or the Beartooth Highway. With Yellowstone Park and the Lamar Valley right out our back door, you are sure to see an incredibly diverse amount of animals anytime of year.
